June Food Drive!
Since 2005, Amador County Animal Control & Adoption Center has benefitted from a program run by Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Hill’s provides Science Diet pet food, delivered each week for a nominal price per pound, which covers its shipping and handling. In exchange, the shelter offers our adoptive families a sample bag of Science Diet plus an option to sign up for coupons and other promotional materials from Hill’s. The company does not use the addresses for any other purpose. This arrangement enables our shelter to have a continuous supply of fresh, quality product, making it unnecessary to store large quantities of food which had, in the past, led to contaminated by rodents, bugs, and other unwanted pests. Thanks to our Director and Hill’s, the shelter no longer needs donations of food. There remain, however, many families with pets who do not have enough to eat. You can brighten the outlook of these deserving animals by making donations of pet food to the Interfaith Food Bank. Large donation boxes are available throughout our area, including the shelter. Remember, “No one should have to face the day hungry”.
