All Creatures, Great and Small

On behalf of all the animals and the people who care about them, A-PAL and TCWC accepted Amador Community Foundation’s matching Giving Tuesday grant on December 14. Since our supporters so generously reached out to both groups, A-PAL received the highest match and TCWC the second highest, over $3,500 each.

Thank you again to all who donated and worked so hard so that all the creatures, great and small, would not be forgotten on that special day of Giving Tuesday.

With deep sadness, we announce the death of our Director at Large Glenyce Wilson. Her commitment to TCWC, the community and our native wildlife combined with her fund raising and event skills helped us thrive through the years. We will miss everything about her: her style, grace and beauty. May she fly with the eagles forever.

Because of your amazing generosity on Giving Tuesday, we can say YES to helping so many more animals and the people who care about them. Just after Giving Tuesday, a Good Samaritan found a kitten on the road with a crushed leg. Your generosity made it possible for this kitten to have surgery.

Molly, a beautiful German Shepherd with hip dysplasia, will now have the surgery she needs to live pain free. Your donations mean that we can treat adoptable dogs at our shelter for heart worm, we can trap, tame and adopt feral kittens, we can remove adult cats from our shelter and find them new homes and our spay/neuter programs will be fully funded.

With your generosity, we can also say YES to the people who need our help. We can foster to adopt the beloved cats of a dying veteran. We can care for an older diabetic cat when his owner is undergoing chemotherapy and we can spay the cherished companion dog of a veteran with PTSD.

We thank you for your generosity and trust and assure you that we will make the most of every dollar to help as many animals and people as possible. All of us at A-PAL Humane Society wish you and your family the warmest of wishes for a Happy Holiday Season!

You can still help!

GIVING TUESDAY – OUR PANTRY IS FULL!

Our pantry is full, Our critters are warm, Your gifts made it happen, All’s bright in our world! On this special day of giving, thanks to your generosity and commitment to help our wild critters, you made sure TCWC’s $12,000 cost for mice is covered. Plus enough to buy an additional incubator to give the little guys and injured adults steady and adjustable warmth, which is the first thing they need to survive. In this complex world, the simple things still matter most: food, warmth and love and YOU gave our wildlife all three. TCWC is truly blessed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We, in turn, extend our warmth and love to the community benefactors who drove Amador County’s Giving Tuesday and who funded the matching grant and Meet & Greet event. So thank you too from the bottom of our hearts to Amador Community Foundation, the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians, American Legion Post 108, Stan Lukowicz, and the Highway House Restaurant & Bar. The breadth and depth of support from our community brightens our wild world.

    Welcome!

PawsPartners.org is an alliance formed between A-PAL Humane Society of Amador County and Tri County Wildlife Care, the latter serving native wildlife in Amador, Calaveras, and Eastern San Joaquin Counties. Since inception we have added the Shelter Partners volunteer group, who support our local Animal Control organization, and Amador County Animal Response Team (ACART).
