Paws & Claws is a WRAP!
JAILHOUSE ROCK TO BENEFIT NATIVE WILDLIFE!
Yee Haw! Cowboys and cowgirls, plus one foxy sheriff, moseyed on into the American Legion Hall Friday night for Tri County Wildlife Care’s 10th annual Paws & Claws Wild West banquet and auction to celebrate wildlife and the people who care about them.
Bidding was fierce to send any guest to the “wild west jail” for any reason – good or bad. Mug shots were taken and the jailbird was released promising, well, to change nothing. The room filled with catcalls and laughter all in support of TCWC’s mission to rescue and rehabilitate local wildlife in need.
President Sandy Greene shared a review: last year over 1,000 critters arrived at the doors needing care, 800 so far this year, and a whopping 76% survived. In addition, TCWC has been honored to receive grants supporting their education program to share why SAVING WILDLIFE SAVES US! benefits both people and animals.
Wine was donated by Justin and Monica from Goin’ Postal and dinner was prepared and served by Jackson’s local Native Sons and Native Daughters of the Golden West. Rewards, handed out for the Best Western Outfit and Wild West Call, laughingly did not include being sent to jail!
Country tunes synched to videos of wildlife and caregivers in action brought roars of appreciation from the audience. The night was a lot of fun, the raffle and auctions were a success, and once again TCWC supporters were the MAGNIFICENT BUCKAROOS there! Thanks to all for coming to help wildlife and people thrive together and giving wildlife in need a SECOND CHANCE TO BE FREE.
