Coyotes and foxes are beneficial predators who keep rodents and other mammals such as skunks, and raccoons in check. They help maintain a healthy ecosystem and species diversity.

- NEVER feed a coyote or fox
- Do not keep pet food outside
- Clean your grill after use or store it in the garage
- Cover and secure your trash and put it out the morning of pick up
- Do not add meat or bones to your compost pile
- Pick up any fallen fruit from trees daily
- Keeping cats indoors always is best, but at least from dusk to dawn when coyotes are most active
- Pick up pet feces
- Do not leave dogs tied up outside, especially small dogs
- HAZE THEM, if coyotes or foxes come near, wave your arms and shout and make them unwelcome. Link to hazing
