“There’s no place like home” said Dorothy and thanks to your extraordinary and amazing generosity, thousands of animals will continue to be released back to their wild homes, healthy and free again! Thank you.
Giving Tuesday 2019 was a soaring success and Tri County Wildlife Care is honored by your support. We are privileged to provide the care wild animals need to thrive again and to teach our community why wildlife is so important to the air, land and water that sustains us all. We also can’t thank the community matching partners enough for the large amount of matching dollars we received. Amador Community Foundation, Pat Crew, the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians, the Ledger Dispatch, Stan Lukowicz and the Highway House Restaurant & Bar give so much to ensure we all succeed on this day and throughout the year. For 25 years, TCWC has been committed to both wildlife and people thriving together. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 209-283-3245 if you need help with your specific wildlife concern.
This very boldly colored bird is one of the most abundant birds in North America - the red-winged blackbird. We have three common blackbirds in this area: the red-winged, a very similar looking tri-colored, and the brewer's blackbird.

Thank you Amador Chamber of Commerce for awarding both A-PAL and TCWC their 2019 Service Award. We are honored by the tribute and humbled by such community support for the work we do and for the animals all around us who need help to thrive again.
Halloween – scary costumes, lots of candy and pumpkins! The scary costumes can be saved for next year, the candy will disappear pretty quick, but what to do with all the pumpkins?

Thank You - One Bird At A Time
Each bird that arrives for care at TCWC is special, be they drab, brilliantly iridescent or anywhere in between. Our passion is to deliver a positive and healthy outcome to each of these birds but we never thought we were making a difference to the total population. Recently scientists have sadly reported that 1 in 3 birds have VANISHED from North America since 1970. The loss is widespread, especially in migratory birds. Meadowlarks have decreased by 50%, American sparrows by 25% - 750 million gone. Causes are unclear, but habitat loss, killing by cats and collisions with buildings are three major factors. TCWC receives birds for all of those reasons. After this news, our mission is even more important than ever and we are proud that 72% to 79% of our rehabilitated birds survive to be free again. We cannot do this without all of you and your generosity. THANK YOU so much for supporting our work to help the world of birds thrive, one bird at a time.
On Friday, September the 13th, a night with a howling full moon Tri County Wildlife Care held it's 11th annual Paws & Claws banquet and auction to celebrate rehabilitating tens of thousands of wild animals over the past 25 years.

It’s 2 a.m. on a hot summer’s night. The windows are open to allow any breeze in to cool off the house. Sniff? Sniff? SNIFF! Honey, wake up! We have to close the windows!
