Fawns will be born soon...remember they cannot outrun predators for about the first 6 weeks of their lives, so their moms "park" them while they forage. They rely on their stillness and lack of scent for protection, so please call us before intervening, 209-283-EAGL (3245)

Thanks to all of the efforts of the Tri County Wildlife Care volunteers and the Board of Directors, the Guidestar Exchange has elevated their status to GOLD PARTICIPANT! Congratulations!
We have 3 new baby Barn Owls, one was found in the basement of a San Joaquin Hospital, one on a cherry farm and the last was turned in at San Joaquin Animal Control. These are at different stages of development and are all doing well. This is one of the most aggressive birds that come to us and one of our favorites...
Our Open House will be held on May 30 from 10 am until 2 pm with lots of fun events including a petting zoo for the little ones, raffle prizes and free hot dogs for all! Best of all you'll have a chance to meet the animals currently housed at the shelter!!
KITTENS!!! Meet the "rainbow litter" they are now ready for the forever home. Come to to Feed Barn to adopt them!
This is our first hawk for 2015. This big baby came in with a left wing Radius fracture which our wonderful Avian Veterinarian, Dr. Jeanne Smith, wrapped. Birds wing bones are similar to our arms with an upper wing Humerus and lower wing Radius and Ulna. Fortunately for this guy, the fracture is in place and should heal well in just a couple of weeks. We can NEVER raise wild ones as well as their parents, so we love it when people like Lisa put nests back up when they find them on the ground. Best news, the parents took just a few minutes to return and begin feeding them!!! These are flycatchers...
In addition to our growing merchandise store, PawsPartners.org will introduce an Animal Artist of the Month for you to enjoy. Browsing the products with endearing art for the animal lover at heart, you may find something you simply must have; and if so, the links that bring you to these works have built in a 15% donation to help the animals of TCWC and A-PAL!
For May we invite you to enjoy the wonderful musings of Vicki Sawyer whose realistic woodland creatures are beautifully painted with exquisite detail, and each has a pinch of whimsy that makes them irresistible to the animal lover! ENJOY! VISIT VICKI'S STORE AND HELP TRI COUNTY WILDLIFE CARE Do you all remember our first squirrel of the season? WELL, he's graduated to the outdoor, pre-release cage! Boy, does he love it! Last step in rehab before release and wild and free!
