This is one lucky little guy! A HUGE THANKS to Lodi Animal Control for bringing him to us after seizing him from people who were making him a pet. Bruce is working on wilding him up and on day one he ran with his prize chicken leg growling into the corner of his new outdoor enclosure, next stop...freedom!

This precious boy, is Dusty!
Dusty had to have life saving surgery due to bladder stones and A-PAL Humane Society paid for his surgery from our Special Needs funds. We are raising the $500 (the cost of his surgery) to put back into our Special Needs fund so we can be ready to help the next animal that needs life saving assistance. Together, we can SAVE THEM ALL! Dusty is currently at the Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center where this sweet little guy reaches out from the bars and paws at the humans passing by to pet him. This loving little guy was skin and bones when he first came in...now he is beautiful and healthy, post surgery! He is currently on Hill's CD Diet until we get his test results back to see if he'll need a special diet for life. To donate to Dusty and our Special Needs Fund, please follow the link below to the donation page on our website and click "SPECIAL NEEDS" at the very bottom right. If you'd like, you may make note in the "Add special instructions to the seller" that your donation is for Dusty. As always, thank you for your continued support of A-PAL Humane Society and it's critters!

These 5 orphaned raccoons were released Wednesday! 2 had car hit Moms and 3 were from an attic that got too hot. Thank you to the kind people who brought them to us. Huge thanks to ROY who bottle fed them and to MICHELLE who kept them in an outdoor cage where they learned to climb and be wild!
Sunday 10/11/15 Chili Cookoff, vintage cars and owls? Sure, we never want to miss an opportunity to share our awesome raptors to promote living in balance with nature.
White Tailed Kites are a rare species that are declining. CA Fish & Wildlife set aside grazed lands and allowed them to become grasslands again. These lands are now supporting 10 times more raptors including Kites. Kites hover as high as 80 feet above ground before diving straight down to catch their favorite meal, the Vole. Thanks to Angie who is lucky to have them on her property for sharing her pictures.
